East Asia Region 2020 Electronic Pre-Assembly

Dr Roland Chia made a presentation at the Council of World Mission’s East Asia Region 2020 Electronic Pre-Assembly (1- 2 April) entitled, ‘Sharing God’s Earth: A Christian Vision of the Environment, Justice and Human Flourishing’.

The 34 participants representing the Presbyterian Churches of Hong Kong, Malaysia, Korea, Myanmar, Taiwan and Singapore were originally supposed to meet in Singapore for the Pre-Assembly. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the meeting was held electronically via Zoom.

Rev Keith Lai (PCS Moderator) gave the opening address to set the tone for the meeting in these extraordinary times. Other speakers include Rev Wayne Hawkins (U.K., CWM Deputy General Secretary), Rev Dr Peter Cruchley (U.K., CWM Mission Secretary), Professor Kung Lap Yan (Hong Kong) and Rev Dr Huang Po Ho (Taiwan).
