This introductory course will help the participants retrieve insights and practices from our rich Christian spiritual heritage to nurture our life in God into a lived reality. It will draw from a selection of historical texts and themes in Christian tradition to forge a theological foundation and praxis for Christian living and ministry. Participants will be introduced to several rudimentary spiritual exercises, engage in their practice through weekly practicums, and be guided on making the connection between their practice and Christian ministry.

Rev Dr Jimmy Tan is chaplain and lecturer of pastoral and practical theology at Trinity Theological College, and an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in Singapore. He received his PhD from Fuller Theological Seminary where his doctoral dissertation focused on the history, theology, and practice of Christian spiritual direction.
