Library

Founded in 1948, Trinity Theological College exists, “to educate pastors for the church and to train full-time or voluntary evangelists and church workers for religious education or for Christian social service” (Articles of Union). The library at TTC has facilitated this vision by providing for the educational and research needs of the faculty, students and alumni of the College. Our collection focus is primarily in Biblical studies, Systemic Theology, Christian History, Missions and Pastoral Theology. Additionally basic texts relating to Denominational studies, Philosophy, World Religions and the Social Sciences are also acquired as part of the overall collection development goal. These collections classified under the Library of Congress Classification Scheme are housed in a spacious three story level layout which can accommodate more than 100,000 books. The library also has a fully automated compactor system that provides additional stacking space for 30,000 volumes.

A fully integrated library management system allows for online catalogue searches. Structurally, the design of the library is enhanced with open spaces that create an ambience for users to study and read comfortably. Study carrels are also provided for doctoral students of TTC’s postgraduate school as well as visiting scholars so as to provide for personal spaces.

As we continue to grow in our collection strength and services, TTC library aspires to be a valuable site of specialized collection among Singapore libraries and an established center for theological research & study in the region. We also hope to encourage and promote a greater literacy for theological education and pastoral formation through our collection and services.

As to his vocation as a librarian, it is to his wife Judith that he primarily credits for knowing him better than he knows himself. Michael is also involved at his local parish as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion as well as in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults ministry.
