How much can we know about Jesus?

“How much can we know about Jesus?” was the talk at the TTC Multi-purpose Hall on Tue, 18 April 17, given by Professor Craig S. Keener, the F. M. and Ada Thompson Professor of Biblical Studies at Asbury Theological Seminary.

Professor Keener is a prolific and multiple prize-winning author; his recent four-volume commentary on the Book of Acts is the most comprehensive and up-to-date resource for any serious study on Acts. Professor Keener’s talk focussed on the historical reliability of the Gospels, covering topics like their genre and our knowledge of ancient biographies, the preservation, accuracy and reliability of memories about Jesus, and the credibility of Jesus’ miracles.

The talk was well attended by faculty members, students, alumni and members from various churches, punctuated with laughter and at the same time, much important information on the historical reliability of the Gospels. There was also a lively Q&A session after the talk with some attendees remaining behind for further interaction with Professor Keener. We thank God and Professor Keener for the enriching afternoon.
