Rev Dr Lim Teck Peng Inducted as The Lee Huai Kwang Professor of Religious Education

On 29 Aug 19, our Associate Dean, Rev Dr Lim Teck Peng was inducted as the Lee Huai Kwang Professor of Religious Education. Since 2002, TTC has been blessed with financial endowments given by donors over the years.   In order to honour these donors, it was decided to establish professorial chairs to recognize the importance of Christian scholarship which is increasingly necessary in the life of a maturing church.  We are grateful for the generous donation of the family of the late Rev Lee Huai Kwang towards the fifth professorial chair, established in his memory.  This is also the first professorial chair at TTC for a lecturer who teaches predominantly in Chinese.  Dr Lim’s inaugural lecture was entitled “Faith, Tongues and Religious Education”.

With this appointment, TTC reaffirms the importance of Christian scholarship and her long-term commitment to the growing ministry of the Chinese-speaking churches in the region.
